C.M. Cauble ranched for 27 years in Shackelford County. He was the first ranchman to introduce Angus cattle into Shackelford County.
In 1906, C.M. Cauble bought a two story Western Victorian Wood frame home with fourteen gables, from Mrs. Frank Conrad who sold the house after the death of her girl Mary.
