Ephraim 'Ted' Barnes
JEROME - Ephraim T. "Ted" Barnes, 62, of Jerome, died Thursday at his home.
Born March 23, 1923, in Twin Falls, he had been a long-time resident of Jerome. He married Velma Eller, and they were later divorced. He married Esther A. Meyer in Kimberly Sept. 19, 1965.
He served in the Army during World War II, and he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Jerome.
Mr. Barnes, a member of the Lutheran Church, had owned and operated the Tasty Treat Drive-In in Wendell for the past 14 years.
Surviving are; his wife of Jerome; three children, Richard Barnes of Jerome, Michael Barnes of Hagerman and Sharon Kelso of Bliss; six step-children, Glen Lueders of Wenatchee, Wash., Anna Peterson and Karen Smith, both of Blackfoot, Janice Seegrist of Anaconda, Mont., Linda Mullinix of Burley and Judith Luders of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Barnes of Sharon, Conn.; and five sisters, Blanche Smith of San Bernardino, Calif., Mildred Allred of Salt Lake City, Zelda Floyd of Twin Falls, Erma Wheeler of Boise and Bonnie Baker of Sacramento, Calif. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in White Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Rhode officiating.
