Dora Lee Williams Kilpatrick died Sunday, September 14, 2014, at her residence at Emeritus in Alexandria, LA. She donated her body to LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. Reverend Dianne Brown of Texarkana, AR, will conduct a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church of Alexandria, 357 Windermere, at 2:30 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2014, with visitation at 2:00 PM.

One of ten children, Dora Lee was born in Sedalia, Missouri on June 29, 1921, to Herbert and Lela Williams. On August 17, 1946, she married Irvin W. Kilpatrick shortly after his return from duty in WWII. She and Irvin raised their 3 children in Monroe while Dora Lee pursued her dream of a college education. She graduated as valedictorian of her class at Northeast LA University, now ULM. Her career in teaching language arts and social studies was spent in the Monroe City System at Jefferson Junior High and Neville High School.

Dora Lee was preceded in death by her husband Irvin and her son Herb. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Kilpatrick Venable (Dr. Dennis) of Shreveport, LA and Sally Kilpatrick Cooper (Kirk) of Pineville, LA. She was dearly loved by her ten grandchildren: Chad Kilpatrick (Nikki) of Little Elm, TX, Jason Kilpatrick (Brandi) of Prairieville, LA, Tara Kilpatrick Wilson (Jeremiah) of Montrose, CO, Wes Cooper (Julie) of Beaufort, NC, Justin Venable (Ilana) of Hokitika, New Zealand, Sean Kilpatrick (Ashley) of Monroe, LA, Casey Cooper (Jessica) of Ball, LA, Brett Venable (Katie) of Garden Valley, ID, Ben Cooper (Rachel) of Alexandria, LA, and Blake Cooper (Lindsay) of Alexandria, LA. Fourteen great grandchildren also survive her.

Left to cherish her memories are brothers Gene Williams (Barbara) of Missouri and Irvin Williams of California and sister Virginia Lightner (Dorsey) of California.
