Everett Arnold "Andy" Anderson, 63, of Ripley, passed away at his Ripley home on November 19 at 8:25 a.m. after fighting a hard and heroic battle with cancer.

He was born January 13, 1949, in Charleston, son of the late David Arnold and Genavee Stewart Anderson.

A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Everett's greatest loves were his family, friends, home, country and his Lord.

He was much loved by his wife, Margaret, and their four children, Patsy Marie Smith of Zebulon, N.C, Everett Arnold "Andy" Anderson II of Evans, Fawn Ashley Anderson of Roanoke, Va, and Samantha Jo Gibson of Ripley.

Everett was one of nine children in his close-knit family, including Bernice Casto of Ripley, Sharon Wilson of Charleston, Charlotte Warnowski of San Antonio, Texas, David Anderson of Ripley, Terry Anderson of Florida, James Anderson, Jr. of Ripley and Dorothy Cook of Ripley.

He leaves behind four grandchildren, Julian Smith, Victoria "Tori" Anderson, Noah Smith and Evan Anderson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Williams.

Everett was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Century Aluminum for over 36 years, where he made many lifelong friends. Everett was loved and admired by those who knew him. His sense of humor, genuine care for others and his huge personality were an inspiration and gift to others.

Everett was deeply loved and will be missed so much by so many. Though his absence leaves a hole, his memory will live on.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 24, at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.

Interment will follow the service in Anderson Park Cemetery, near Ripley. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.
