The Rev. Utsey died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995. Born in Bamberg County, he was a son of the late Lou and Maggie Mack Utsey .
He attended Morris College and Benedict College and was pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Ulmer and Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Association.
Surviving are his wife, Jestine Kimpson Utsey ; daughters, Patricia Wright of Tallahassee, Fla., Nancy McFarland of Tampa, Fla., and Lesha Gray of Columbia; sons, Duncan Utsey of Columbia, Morris Utsey Jr. of Branchville; sisters, Frances Slater and Grace Kinard, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Bessie Brothers of Orangeburg; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
