Robert L. Goff, 85, of Mt. Vernon, IN, passed away September 2, 2016 at New Harmony Nursing Home. Robert was born May 7, 1931 in Point Township, Posey County, IN, the son of John and Lessie (Hughey) Goff.
He worked most of his life as a farmer. He enjoyed, gardening, cracking pecans, fishing, recycling by collecting cans, and cruising town on his moped.
He is survived by his eight children, four sons, Robert (Diane) Goff, Larry (Jenny) Goff, John (Wanda Jo) Goff, and Gary (Cheryl) Goff; four daughters, Barbara (David) Johnson, Lessie (Terry) Oeth, Dorothy Hollon and Wanda (Charles); 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Helen Maxine Goff; his parents, John and Leslie Goff; brothers, Tommy, Hubert & John Goff; sisters, Loveda Pierce, Mollie Clayton, Christine Grabert, Irene Pruitt and Lula Mae Kimmel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will be in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
