Kathleen Elizabeth Ijames, 87, was called home on May 24, 2016 at the Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton, NJ.
She was born on in Danville, VA. and was a longtime resident of Princeton, NJ. She resided in Hamilton, NJ until her death. She worked as a housekeeper and a school aide before becoming a devoted homemaker. Kathleen was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton and a recent associate member of Light of the World Family Worship Church in Hamilton, NJ. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is predeceased in her death by her parents Delos and Mattie Martin; her husband John Wesley Ijames; and her stepdaughter Evelyn Chestnutt. Kathleen leaves to mourn three loving daughters, Dolores Bryant, Wanda Dickerson, and Karen Washington (Greg); a foster daughter Isabell Wilson; six loving grandchildren, Andre Ingram Jr., Sean Terrill Ijames, Mercedes Ijames, Chenise Dickerson, Jewel Alexis Bryant, and Tori Washington; four great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at First Baptist Church John St. and Paul Robeson Place in Princeton, NJ. Calling hour will be 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cem. Arneytown, NJ.
