Adam Koerbach/Carbaugh was born about 1767 in Franklin Township, Adams County, PA, the son of Christian and Juliana Koerbach. He may have married Anna Barbara (born Deck), the widow of Leonard Muench/Minnich, in about 1790. He, together with his brother Samuel, inherited his father's mill at Pine Valley Road and Marsh Creek, McKnightstown, Adams County, PA in November 1813. On 5 January 1817 Adam bought out his brother's share of the mill for $1,000. But then only about a month later the mill burned down, and the property was lost to creditors. Adam is presumably the father of Samuel Koerbach/Carbaugh born 1796 of Hopewell Township, Huntington County, PA, and the same by that name who appeared in the Hopewell Township tax records from 1820 through 1826.
