Found in The State 20 May 1899: Ridgeway-May 19.-Our little town is again called upon to mourn the death of another of her oldest citizens, Mr. David George Robertson, who died this evening at 7:30 o'clock, after a two years' illness, during which time his wife was his constant attendant, she having given up her life just eleven days ago. May they rejoin each other on the other shore. Mr. Robertson was a native of the Long Town section of this county where he had lived up to the time of his wife's death, at which time he was brought here to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. P. Wray. He was the last of three brothers, John F. Robertson and Thos. J. Robertson having preceded him to the grave several years ago. He had just passed his sixty-ninth year last Sunday. He was a graduate of the South Carolina college and belonged to the old school of southern gentlemen, of whom there are very few left, a genial and hospitable host. Peace to his ashes.
