Agnes A. Reilley, 87, of Alterra at Summerfield Village, Onondaga Hill, passed away peacefully this past week at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Joan Reilley of Camillus. Agnes was a resident of the Valley for over 50 years, was a member of St. James Church and was involved in many local and community organizations. Mrs Reilley retired in 1993 as the director of the Medical Record Dept. at Van Duyn Home & Hospital and prior to that worked in the same capacity at Community General Hospital for 10 years. Agnes was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and spent her early years in Lincoln Park, MI. During the depression she moved to Syracuse to live with an aunt on Park Avenue and graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School. It was shortly thereafter that she met and married Gerald, her husband of 50 years who died in 1992. She graduated from OCC and achieved her certificate as an ART before taking her position at Van Duyn. Agnes was a master gardener who took great pride in her gardens both at home and at Alterra. Mrs. Reilley is survived by two sons, Dennis (Joan) of Camillus and Pat of Syracuse ; brothers, Desmond Herbert of Jackson, MI and Charles Herbert of Manistee, MI as well as her three beloved grandchildren, Alison of Dedham, MA, Patrick of Yokuska, Japan and Andrew of Buffalo. She was predeceased by a daughter, Eileen in 1998. Calling hours will be Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse. Services will be Saturday, 9:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, W. Seneca Turnpike, Onondaga Hill. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
