Rev. Babb, a resident of Bastrop since 1952, had lived at the Avalon Place in Monroe since March 2005. He attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR. He pastored churches for over 50 years in south Arkansas and north Louisiana, including First Baptist Church of Marion and the former West Side Baptist Church of Bastrop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bobby Babb; two brothers, Ray and Ira Babb; and his sister, Nella Faye.
He was survived by his wife of 65 years, Bessie Hooks Babb; his son, Keith W. Babb and wife Carolyn, all of Monroe; his half-sister, Connie Nelms of Shreveport; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
