TREVELYAN, Robert James Born November 13, 1922, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Mae (nee Bell), in 1997 and is survived by his sons, Robert James 'Bob' (Connie Newhall), David Edmund 'Dave' (Holly) and Kenneth William 'Ken' (Kay), his grandchildren, Christopher (White Rock, B.C.), Gavin and Tina (Peterborough), Heather and Richard (Newmarket), Madeleine (Peterborough) and Anna (Ottawa) and his two great- granddaughters, Mae Belle and Lena Eileen. Jim, recently a resident of Royal Gardens Retirement Community in Peterborough, Ontario, was a Veteran of WWII distinguishing himself as Flight Lieutenant in the RCAF. When he returned, he attended the University of Toronto graduating with a degree in Business. Upon graduation he joined Canada Life Assurance Company, had a distinguished career in the Group Life Division eventually retiring as Vice President of Group Underwriting. He developed many lasting business relationships and many great friends across Canada. When he decided on early retirement in 1984, he and Mae travelled extensively across Canada and the United States in their camper van visiting friends and sight seeing. They were active golf and social members of Weston Golf Club enjoying many games with friends and never missing a party or a chance to practice their 'swing' dancing which they loved. Jim also involved himself in the club management and became president in 1989. Their New Years Eve parties at Tewsley Place were a perennial favourite with the neighbours and friends. Jim was a true gentleman and left a lasting impression on everyone who came to know him. He will be missed. The family will have a private ceremony to say goodbye. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Peterborough Regional Health Centre through Little Lake Cemetery Company, 915 Haggart Street, Peterborough, Ontario, K9J 2Y1, 1-800-672-9652.
