Forrest Gaston Baker, 56, of Barboursville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Born September 5, 1959, in Rome, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Andrew Baker.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Whitehead and husband, Walter; two daughters, Krystal Johnson and husband, Matt, Kimberly Garr and husband, Chris; three beloved grandchildren, Cooper Garr, Reagan Garr, and Carter Johnson; two sisters, Delores Hux and husband, Jeff, Deborah Sessoms and husband, Steve; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He loved to be outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisher, and gardener. He was an amazing father and grandfather, and will be truly missed by many.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Lydia Mountain Barn, 13255 Dyke Rd., Stanardsville, VA 22973. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Orange County Humane Society or Hospice of the Piedmont.
