Robert was born August 6, 1921, near Anselmo to Fred and Mabel (Lindly) Anderson. He grew up in the Arnold area and attended school in Arnold until the 11 grade. As a young man he moved to Seattle and worked in the food service field until he was needed at home to help his father.
He married Alberta Marie Koch in Lexington on September 5, 1943. They had two children, Vicky and Rodney. The family moved to Boise for two years in the early 1950's where Robert worked for Royal Crown Bottlers and Babbit Construction. After returning to Arnold, Robert farmed until selling the farm and moving to town in the early 1980s. After retiring Robert continued to work part time as a farm hand for several years.
Robert enjoyed woodworking and loved children. He made rocking horses for all his great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by a son Rodney (Donna) of Holdrege; two grand-daughters, Jo (Brian) Erbe of New Jersey, Robin (Dan) Crowley of Elm
Creek; one grandson, Shane (Paula) Flint of North Carolina; son-in-law Ron Boston of Alma; two sisters, Doris Wilmoth of Merna and Leota Cantrell of Idaho;
and nine great-grandchildren.
Robert will be cremated and graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, at the Arnold Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home of Fullerton is in charge of arrangements.
