New Vienna Resident, Clinton Pioneer, Dies

Wilmington, Ohio, March 10 - Jason Polk, 88, New Vienna, member of a pioneer family of Clinton and Highland counties and native of near New Vienna, died at his home Tuesday at 9:20 A.M. of complications following a four-week illness.
He was born near New Vienna, December 15, 1848, the son of Joshua and Sarah Polk.
He was one of 12 children.
August 30, 1876, he married Sarah Huff who died January 3, 1935.
Mr. Polk is survived by one son, Grover Polk; two daughters, Mrs. T. T. Slaughter of near New Vienna and Miss Addie Polk at home; one brother, Thomas Polk of near New Vienna and two sisters, Miss Phoebe Jane Polk and Mrs. Anna Polk, both of near New Vienna.
Funeral services will be held at the residence Thursday at 2 P.M.
Burial will be in the New Vienna I.O.O.F. cemetery.
