Samuel Cain, age 68, of Cat Lake Road, Mayville, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at his home. He was born on December 5, 1937 in Paris, Tennessee and came to Taylor, Michigan as a child. On August 10, 1957 Samuel Cain married the former Gladys Wahl. During his working career he was self-employed, first with a grocery store and from there on as an owner-operator of a trucking company. He was a very loving individual who shared his bounty with others. He was big hearted and a teacher of his values to his family. He enjoyed motocross and racing 100 mile enduros. He loved all types of outdoor vehicles. Sam was baptized in the Baptist church and lived the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; his children, Karri Crittenden of Millington, Sherri Cain of Lewiston, James (Angela) Cain of Midland; six grandchildren, Christopher Weakley of Mayville, Kelli Crittenden of Millington, Mathew and Jeffery Carnes of Lewiston, Cody and Kaitlyn Cain of Mildland; one great-granddaughter, Kalie Weakley of Mayville; a sister, Beth Massucci of Melvindale; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Cain of Mayville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Milo and Mildred (Crowder) Cain, he was also preceded in death by a son, Samuel William Cain, and his brother, Richard Harold Cain.
