Hyrum Ray Ashworth, 61, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from this life Thursday, July 7, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ray was born November 4, 1943, in Payson, Utah, to Bill and Isabelle Ashworth. He married Marie Nash on February 5, 1965. He worked at Geneva Steel for 30 years and retired in 1998. After his retirement, he worked for Nebo School District for four years. Ray loved the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons, and liked to golf. He enjoyed working in his garden and took great pride in his yard. He especially loved to spend time with his grandsons and watch them participate in sports. Ray is survived by his wife, Marie; his sons, Jed (Cherie) Ashworth, Todd (Christina) Ashworth; and four grandsons, who were the light of his life: Kaleb, Branson, Briggs, and Logen. He is also survived by two sisters, Rosemary (Elvin) Harward, Sharon (Brian) Huntsman; and brother, David (Lori) Ashworth. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Steven; and infant son, Troy. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Cordell Bott and his staff for the excellent care given to him. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at 11 a.m.
