Dicie died giving birth to twins, Willis and Wallace. She left 8 other children. Her husband, Charlie William Trucks, was unable to provide for all of them, so they went to live in what was essentially an orphanage, then called, the Mercy Home (now, Gateway). Dicie, Willis and Wallace are buried next to each other at Taylor Chapel UMC in Chalkville, AL.
