Katharine, 71, of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Katharine was the daughter of Thomas and May Sexton.
She moved to Eaton Rapids as a young woman and lived at the VFW home. While living at the VFW home Katharine was trained in aviation detection and would spend time posted on the roof of her home watching for airplanes during the cold war. She worked for the State of Michigan first for Governor Milliken’s office, the Department of Civil Services and retired from the Department of Agriculture in 2013.
Surviving Katharine are her children, John (Heidi) McGarry, Steve (Kerry) McGarry, Ann McGarry, James (Michelle) McGarry, Phil (Brenda) McGarry; and 15 grandchildren.
A Funeral service was held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids chapel. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamlin Township immediately following the service.
