Marion was born in Stimreway (Stemrabhagh), Lochs, Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

DEATH
MacDONALD. -- At the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. S. MacCaskill, Bury, Que., on Saturday, April 28, 1945, Marion Nicholson, widow of the late Dan T. MacDonald, aged 92 years. Prayers at the house on Monday, April 30th, at 1:30.
Funeral service at Chalmer's United Church, Gould, at 2 p.m.
Interment in Gould Cemetery.

OBITUARY

MRS. DANIEL T. MacDONALD, OF KEITH, FORMERLY OF LINGWICK.

Keith, May 30. -- An old and esteemed resident, Mrs. Daniel T. MacDonald, passed peacefully away in her ninety-third year, after a long illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. S. MacCaskill, in Keith, on April 28.

The largely-attended funeral was held on Monday, April 30, in Chalmers' United Church, Gould, and was conducted by Rev. Graham Barr, B.A., B.D., of St. Andrew's United Church, Scotstown, who spoke spoke words of comfort to the bereaved, and paid fitting tribute to the memory of the deceased. With Mrs. A. A. MacAulay, of Scotstown, as organist, the following hymns, favorites of the deceased, were sung, "All the Way My Savior Leads Me," "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and "Peace, Perfect Peace".

Among the beautiful floral tributes, evidences of love and esteem, were included those from the Ladies' Aid of Chalmers' United Church and from the Faculty of the Henry Abbott Trade School in Danbury, Conn.

The bearers were Messrs. R. L. MacIver, Gordon MacLean, Albert MacLean, Hugh MacDonald, Ruel Annesley and Wilbert Buchanan.

The interment was made in the family lot in Gould Cemetery beside her husband, who predeceased her two years ago.

Mrs. MacDonald, nee Marion Nicholson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nicholson, was born in Lewis, Scotland, on January 16, 1853, and on June 16, 1863, she came to Canada with her parents, who settled in Lingwick. Her marriage to Daniel T. MacDonald took place on November 3, 1886. Mr. and Mrs. MacDonald with their family resided in Lingwick for many years. Some years ago, they moved to Scotstown, where Mr. MacDonald died.

In failing health for some years, Mrs. MacDonald was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. K. R. MacLeod, and for the past year was with her daughter, Mrs. W. S. MacCaskill, in Keith, from whom she received devoted attention. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, which became Chalmers' United Church, and was closely) identified with its various activities) until failing health did not permit.

Of a quiet disposition and of unselfish character, Mrs. MacDonald possessed the happy faculty of making friends and retaining their love and trust.

Those who survive and mourn her passing are her daughters, Dora, Mrs. W. S. MacCaskill, of Keith, Mary, Mrs. Arnold MacDonald, Queen's Village, Long Island, Harria, Mrs. K. R. MacLeod, of Scotstown; her sons, Mr. John MacDonald, of Lowell, Mass., Mr. Daniel MacDonald, of Danbury, Conn.; her niece, Annie, Mrs. Douglas MacDonald, of Limerick, Sask.; daughters-in-law, Mrs. John MacDonald and Mrs. Daniel MacDonald; sons-in-law, Mr. Arnold MacDonald and Mr. K. R, MacLeod; a sister, Mrs. Murdo MacDonald, of Kingston, Ont.; brothers-in-law, Mr. John MacDonald, of Nipawin, Sask., and Mr. Murdo MacDonald; sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many-other relatives and friends.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral included Mrs. W. S. MacCaskill and Mr. Malcolm; MacCaskill, of Keith, Mr. and Mrs. K. R. MacLeod, Miss Dorothy MacLeon, Miss Kay MacLeod, Mrs. A. A. MacAulay, Mrs. A. G. Sherman, Miss Margaret E. Smith, FO, John M. S. MacAulay and Rev. Graham Barr, of Scotstown, Mrs. Arnold MacDonald, of Long Island, Mr. John MacDonald, of Lowell, Mass., Mr. Daniel MacDonald, of Danbury, Conn., Miss Eleanor MacLeod and Miss Helen MacCaskill, of Montreal. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Goodwin, of Canterbury, Mrs. Albert Beliveau, Mrs. John MacLeod and Mr. Stanley Bishop, of East Angus.
