WEST BLOCTON – Travis Turner Stewart, age 86, of West Blocton, died August 24, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. today, August 27, 2016, at Ada Chapel Bible Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Eads, Rev. Randall Crotts and Rev. JW Kornegay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Norwood-Wyatt Chapel Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include his daughter, Maxine S. Thrasher; step son, James Dukes (Melanie); grandchildren, Jesse Thrasher, Ben Thrasher (Aimee) and Amanda Dukes; and great-grandchildren, Kylee, Bentley and Braxton Thrasher.
He took a lot of pride in the fact of being a Korean War veteran. He was a past active member and chief of Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He was a very loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather known as ""Pop"" and uncle, known as ""Unc.""
Pallbearers will be Teddy Stewart, Justin Terry, Tommy Thrasher, Joe Williams, Bartley Pearson and Ricky Kornegay.
