Mrs. Earlene Clark, 78, passed away at her daughter, Vickie’s home in AL, on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Christian. Mrs. Clark worked as a cashier for a couple of different grocery stores in Saraland, AL. She also became a nurse and worked for two surgeons in Saraland. Upon her late husband, Orbie Clark’s retirement, she moved with him to State Line, MS. She went to work at the W & W Triangle in Leakesville for a few years after her husband’s passing. She then spent the next several years working as a nurse at George Regional Hospital in Lucedale, until she retired. In 2013, she came to live with her daughter, Vickie.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Orbie Clark; parents, Artis and Kate Shepard; brother, Ernest “Luke” Shepard; two sisters, Audrey Bruhl and Louise Walley; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Vickie (Bill) Nicholas, Judy (Paul) Batchelder, and Glenda Clark; one son, Glen Clark; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donnie Shepard Harper; brother and sister-in-law, Guyton and Louise Clark; sister-in-law, Lola Mae Brewer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A wake will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 6-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 10 am at Freeman Funeral Home with Chaplain Frances Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the Fellowship Cemetery.
