OBITUARY OF EDWARD HIATT
Leonard Edward Hiatt was born in Winchester, Ohio, October 3, 1880, and departed this life at Omaha, Nebraska, July 12, 1916.
He united with the Christian Church at the age of fifteen.
A greater part of his life was spent in Abingdon.
There are left to mourn his loss one brother, Wm. Ed. Hiatt of Davenport, IA, one sister, Mrs. Milton C. Arte, and one nephew, Earl LeRoy Arte of Cameron, IL, besides his aunts, Mrs. Lydia Spies of Abingdon, Mrs. Laura Bennell of Denver, CO, and Mrs. Alice Cooper of Peoria.
The body was brought from Omaha on Saturday and the funeral was held at the Hall & Robinson undertaking chapel at 2 o'clock on Sunday, the address being given by the Rev. J.T. Pierce, pastor of the Methodist Church, and two duets being sung, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Saved by Grace" by Mrs. Earl W. Cutler and Mrs. Joseph Shipplett.
Pallbearers were: H.J. and Bert Riner, Ed and Fred Knisley, Claude Lomax and Clyde Arte of Cameron.
The interment was in the Abingdon Cemetery.
