A Centenarian Dead - Mr. Thad Coomes, who resided about 3 miles below Beech Grove, died on the 21st. He has been almost helpless for a number of years and blind.
He claimed to have been born in 1780, which would make his age at the time of his death 111 years. Many old men who knew him say that he was not this old, but about 100 years of age. At all events he was decidedly the oldest citizen of the county.
