"Mrs. James (Helen Ralston) Mackey, a Livingston County resident for more than 30 years, died June 4, 1988, in Stone Mountain, Ga. She had resided in the Mooresville area and was a correspondent for The Constitution Tribune for many years.

Mrs. Mackey was born January 29, 1902, in Wheeling, the daughter of James Taylor and Dora Crist Ralston. She attended high school in Wheeling two years, her junior year at the University of Missouri High School and graduated from Breckenridge High School. She attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. She was married to James G. Mackey and for more than 30 years they lived in Mooresville, where he was a merchant and postmaster. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary in October 1978. Mr. Mackey preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Mooresville Christian Church, playing piano for its services for 30 years. She was a charter member of the Mooresville Study Club and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also a pianist for the Mooresville High School activities several years.

Mrs. Mackey is survived by two sons, Joe Franklin Mackey and his wife, Mary Lou, of Anaheim, Calif. and James B. Mackey and his wife, Judy of Stone Mountain; a brother, James Howard Ralston of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mooresville Christian Church with burial in the Mooresville Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, June 6, 1988
