Mrs Nancy J Buckland wife of R V Buckland died at her home near Tincher, Greenbrier County WV where she had resided for the past fourteen years, Feb 18, 1919 at 11 am of dropsy (congestive heart failure) following an illness of about seven months. She was the daughter of the late John Plumley of Raleigh county and was born April 26, 1855. She was married April 10, 1873. To this union were born thirteen children and sixty-six grandchildren; making a total of seventy-nine. Besides her husband the eleven children that survive her are Mrs Lois Gillispie, Mrs Agnes Gillespie, Mrs Martha Osborne, Mrs Roxie Sims and Dewey Buckland all of Tincher; Everett Buckland, Meadow Bridge; J E Buckland, White Sulphur; S R and Z P Buckland, both of Alderson; Mrs Eunice Richmond and Mrs C E Plumley of Raleigh county. She also leaves four brothers, William Plumley, Hinton; Harmon Plumley, Pluto; Andrew and Johnie Plumley, both of Illinois.
She united with the Baptist church early in life and had been a constant member up to the time of her death. She was well liked and respected by all who knew her, a devoted wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by her many friends. Contributor: FG# 48825891.
