Those who knew Steve, knew he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys Football fan. He enjoyed many years of softball with friends. Early on, Steve developed a love of cooking from his grandparents, he owned and operated two restaurants. He loved fishing, and previously had managed Lake Van in Dexter, New Mexico. While at Lake Van, he helped organize and put on fishing tournaments, and helped organize and begin the annual Fourth of July fireworks show. He was loving and easygoing.
