Madeline Dather, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 17 in Norfolk. The funeral will be held Wednesday for "Madeline A. Dather who first came to Madison County on an 'orphan train' from New York City in 1911." Madeline Bateman was born March 17, 1899 in New York City. She married George Dather on Dec.7, 1921 at Pierce. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, 1 brother, and her parents. She was survived by 1 daughter Mrs. Ed (Virginia) Bobb of Norfolk, 3 sons: Forrest of Fremont; Kenneth of Sioux City, Iowa; Robert of Louisville, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
