Maurice C. Keltsch, 89, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Sage Bluff Nursing and Rehab in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana Maurice was the son of the late Carl and Ida Keltsch. Maurice graduated from North Side High School in 1945 and earned his bachelors degree from Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 1950. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Maurice was the owner, president, and pharmacist of Keltsch Pharmacy for 43 years, retiring in 1993. Maurice was a true patron of the Arts and was dedicated to community service. He served on the board of directors at Lutheran Hospital from 1970-82, American Heart Assoc., American Red Cross, Lutheran Home from 1995-01, and YWCA Board of trustees. He also served on the Arts United Board, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Honorary Trustee, Artlink, Past President, Trustee of Helen Van Arnam Foundation, Mayor's Senior Advisory Council past Chairman, and a Charter member of Franke Park Lions Club. He earned the distinguished Sagamore of the Wabash Award in 2004, Don Harding Award, outstanding, Pharmacist in Indiana 1960, and McSoley Pharmacist of the year in 1999. He was a 50 plus year member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was actively involved with his family and was very proud of their accomplishments. Surviving are his daughters, Sara (Dan Thue) Keltsch of Fort Wayne, Molly (Dana Leininger) Keltsch of Fort Myers Beach, FL, Amanda (Scott) Senger of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Sydney and Shelby Senger; sisters, Ruth Cole of Studio City, CA and Mildred Franke of Fort Wayne. Maurice was preceded in death by his wife, Betty I. Keltsch, and brother Donald Keltsch. Service is 10:30 am, Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1636 St. Mary's Avenue with Pastor Thomas Eggold officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road Friday, August 26, 2016, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Preferred memorials may be made to the Aids Task Force of Northeast Indiana or Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
