John Crittenden Benningfield was a son of Henry L. Benningfield and Eunice Bryant Benningfield.
He married Mary Ann Howell on 2 March 1874.
In the 1880 LaRue County Census for the Magnolia district, John C. Benningfield was family 73. He was 28 years old, a Farmer, born in Kentucky. His wife, M. A., was 23. Their children were; U. C., 5; and M. E., age 1 year. He lived next door to George T. Benningfield and his family.
He died and was buried here in Abney Cemetery.
Mary Ann married again to Richard Vance Puckett. She died 22 Nov 1931 and is buried in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in LaRue County.
