Lema Glenn was born on May 8, 1931 in Teller, Oklahoma to Edward E. “Lonnie” Ayres and Lydia M. (Ross) Ayres. She graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1949 and later married Ray Hampton Branum on May 29, 1952 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Branum worked for many years at the First State Bank in Tishomingo where she spent most of her time as a teller. She was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. Most recently, Mrs. Branum had been residing at the Blue River Health Care facility in Tishomingo, where she passed away on August 11, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on January 24, 1999; and her sister, ViNell Bennett.
Mrs. Branum is survived by two nieces, Judy McGehee of Ravia and Glenn Nell Hester and husband Billy of Edmond, Oklahoma; her nephew, Benny Bennett and wife Juanita of Durant, Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.
