Carol Ann Gililland, 64

Carol Ann Gililland, of Tularosa, N.M., passed away on August 28, 2016, in Alamogordo, N.M. She was born on Feb. 10, 1952, in Alamogordo, N.M., to Hugh and Mona Roberts.

Carol Ann was laid to rest by her husband, Roy L. Gililland; her sons Roy Lee and Brandon Gililland; her daughter, Casie Boles; her father Hugh A Roberts and his wife Darlene Roberts; brother Tom Roberts; sister Robin Roberts; two daughters in-law; Kim and Niki Gililland; son in-law David Boles; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Kaylee, Harlee, Rylee, Jaspur, Kashle, and Preslee Gililland and Dakota Derrick; nephews Jerad and Brian Roberts, Jeremey Hobson, Ryan, Aaron, and Kevin Gililland, Dale Poindexter; nieces, Tanya, Sonya and Theresa Gililland, and Tiffani Roberts; brothers in-law, Bill and Jerry Gililland; sisters in-law Kathy Roberts, Darlene and Frances Gililland; aunt Elizabeth Jones; cousins Bobby, Pat, Jerry, and Connie Jones, Sheryl and Kenny Pritchett, DeeAnn and Richard McCarson; step brother Rocky Richardson and step sister Rhonda Frank and their families; dear friend Kathye Moore, and by many other loving family and friends.

Carol Ann loved being a grandmother and cherished the most important things in life. She put others before herself, had a wonderful sense of humor, became a mother figure to everyone she knew or met, always having wise and helpful words to say, knowing what to do in a crunch. There wasn't a rain cloud she wouldn't try to watch away or a piece of watermelon let go to waste. She loved her husband and family dearly, especially when they were sitting around a camp fire or dancing to good country music. She will be deeply missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alton and Laura Jones and Terrance and Carol Bass; mother, Mona Lou Roberts; mother in-law Ina Ruth Gililland, father in-law Sam W. Gililland, sister in-law, Cleo Poindexter, Carolyn Gililland; granddaughter; Katelynn Gililland;
and cousin Mike Jones, uncles Bob and Fritz Jones, and aunts Juanita and Martha Jones.

There will be two occasions for family and friends to come together and celebrate the life of Carol Ann Gililland, and all are welcome to attend. On Saturday, Sept. 10th at the Gililland's home on 30 Apache Lane, Tularosa, NM beginning at 4:00 p.m. 'til closing time.

The second celebration of Carol Ann's life will be held on Saturday October 1st at 1:00 p.m., at the Cornudas Mountain Family Cemetery at the Jones Ranch with Jim Davis officiating.
