Frederick Ludwig Tietjen, 90, of 266 1/2 East Third South St., died Wednesday morning in a Salt Lake hospital.
He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, July 30, 1855, a son of August Henry Tietjen and Ida Kruger Tietjen.
The family came to Utah in 1860 as converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and settled at Santaquin, where they lived for 45 years.
He married Clarrissa Halliday Tietjen Jan. 27, 1881. She died in 1939.
He has been a Salt Lake resident for the past 40 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kate Adams, New York; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday noon at 260 East South Temple St.
