Services for Mrs. Mary Evelyn Lamkin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Brother Lee Taylor, and Reverend Mo Seneca officiating. Burial will be in Paul Cemetery, Forest Hill.
The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Lamkin, 93, of Woodworth passed from this life, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Grace Home.

She was a member of Longleaf Baptist Church, Forest Hill. Mrs. Lamkin was a crafty person, who loved to paint, sew, crochet and quilt. Her special devotion was to her children and grandchildren. She loved her church and most importantly, she loved her LORD and is now in his eternal presence. She will be fondly missed and not forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Buster Jackson and Louie Lamkin; daughter, Prudence Jackson; grandchildren, Keith E. Jackson, Christopher P. Jackson, Tracy Jackson, Virginia DeeAnn Jackson; parents, Dewey Abrim and Mary Jane Cox; brothers, Marcus D. Cox, Ewart Edison Cox, Samuel Everet Cox; sisters, Florence K. Youngblood, Neldria Cox, Anice E. Durr, Betty M. Richmond.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Richard Vernon Jackson and wife, Jane, Thomas Kay Jackson and wife, Margie, Charles Andrew Jackson, Barry Wayne Jackson and Kathy; daughter, Stephanie Delores Ford and husband, Jack; sisters, Francis I. Patterson, Clara Jeanette Varney, Elizabeth Ann Ehlan; twenty grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Jackson, Charles Bradley Jackson, Cody Smith, Cameron Glaze, Bradley Adams, Evan Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Jackson, Robert Wilkerson, David Wilkerson, and Tanner Ray.

The family sends a sincere thank you to the staff of Grace Home of Alexandria for providing such exceptional care and compassion in a loving environment.
