Virginia Christine LOCKLEY FIELDER, 57, of Corpus Christi and formerly of Clyde, died at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday in Corpus Christi after a brief illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory.

Stuart LOVE, minister of University Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will bein Potosi Cemetery.

Born June 1, 1920, in Clyde, she had worked as a civil service worker for the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, She attended Abilene schools and graduated from Abilene High in 1941.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. James W. FIELDER of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Sherry Kaye BERRY of San Antonio; a son, J. R. of Corpus Christi; her mother, Mrs. J. H. CLAXTON of 1333 Walnut; four sisters, Mrs. A. A. FANNIN of Corpus Christi, Mary Lou PAYNE of Clyde and Imagene KEY and Ila Mae GABBERT, both of Abilene; and two brothers, G. C. LOCKLEY and Rev. J. A. LOCKLEY, both of Fort Worth; six step-sisters, Juanita SARTOR, Lorlene DUNCAN, Lavern MOOTY, Frances VARNADORE and Ruth MAXWELL, all of Abilene, and Duley St. PIERRE of Fort Worth; three step-brothers, Odell CLAXTON of Albuquerque, N. M., Lonny CLAXTON of Lufkin and Charles CLAXTON of Fort Worth; and five grandchildren.
