Abraham Demarest, an old resident of Rutherford, died at his home yesterday morning at the age of 70 years. Mr. Demarest died from the effects of a general break down, due to his advanced years.
He had many friends in the borough, and was a much thought gentleman.
The deceased is survived by two daughters. The funeral services will be held tonight at his late residence. The Rev. Mr. Ruth will officiate. The interment will follow tomorrow morning in the family plot at Sparkill, New York.
For many years, Mr. Demarest was connected with the Erie Railroad and was looked upon as an honest and trustworthy employee.
