Jo Anne Gibson, age 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Emeritus at Hillen Vale.

She was born on May 5, 1931 in Coldwater, MI to the late Harold Stout and Beatrice Reinhart Alford.

Jo Anne was a retired LPN. Some of her hobbies included world traveling and bike riding on various bike trails with her late husband James. She was an avid crocheter and donated many of her afghans to Inter Church and New Directions.

Jo Anne is survived by her six children, Peggy Smith of Dayton; Ron Gibson of Oberlin; Susan Gibson of Laurel Lake, FL; Ken (Manuela) Gibson of Berlin, Germany; Karen (Errin) Hart of New London and Brenda (Keith) Scheiderer of Sparta, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her husband James C. Gibson in 2013, a brother Jim Alford and step-father James Alford.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:00PM in Skeen Cemetery with Pastor Roger Tickle officiating. A memorial service will follow at 2:00PM at Emeritus at Hillen Vale. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Homes are handling the funeral services for the Gibson family.
