CAMPBELLSBURG ADAMS, JOHN WAYNE, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in Louisville. He retired after 35 years as a pipefitter and was a member of Local Pipefitters Union 522. Son of the late William E. and Inez (Hancock) Adams, he was preceded in death by his brother, William E. Adams, Jr. Survived by his wife, Geneva "Jenny" L. Adams of Campbellsburg; two daughters, Mrs. John (Dawn) Suter of Campbellsburg and Mrs. Brent (Angie) Donner of LaGrange; four sisters, Margie Hale of Atlanta, GA, Betty Dollar of Columbus, GA, Mrs. Hubert (Marion) Louden, Sr. of Louisville, and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Highfill, Sr. of Campbellsburg; a brother, James Adams of Louisville; four grandchildren; a loving canine companion, Alli; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Danny Meredith of Elizabethtown. Burial: Sulphur Cemetery. Visitation: after 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Contributions may be given to Kosair Children's Hospital.

John Wayne Adams, age 59, of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in Louisville. He was the son of the late William E. and Inez Hancock Adams, a retired pipefitter after 35 years and a member of Local Pipefitters Union 522.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva "Jenny" L. Adams, Campbellsburg; two daughters: Mrs. John (Dawn) Suter, Campbellsburg; and Mrs. Brent (Angie) Donner, LaGrange; four sisters: Margie Hale, Atlanta, GA; Betty Dollar, Columbus, GA; Mrs. Hubert (Marion) Louden Sr., Louisville and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Highfill Sr., Campbellsburg; one brother, James Adams, Louisville; four grandchildren; loving K-9 companion, Alli and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William E. Adams Jr.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Meredith, Elizabethtown, officiated. Interment was in Sulphur Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Hubert Louden Sr., David Schultz, Ray Highfill Sr., Dale Beecham, Dickie Gaines. Active pallbearers were James Adams, John Suter, Kenny Leach, Hubert Louden Jr., Larry Justice, Eric Adams and Ray Highfill Jr. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Children's Hospital.

A Campbellsburg man is dead after being reported missing for several days. John W. Adams was found dead in the Ohio River, approximately six miles from downtown Louisville around noon on Sept. 26. He was last seen on Sept. 22 after leaving a note saying he was headed to Carrollton to get something to eat. His pickup truck was found at Pint Park on Sept. 23, the same day his wife reported him missing. An autopsy is scheduled for Sept. 27 at the Medical Examiners Office in Louisville. Kentucky State Police Trooper Steve Goodale is investigating the case; however, foul play is not suspected.
