Sylvania – Austin Matthew (A.M.) Hill, Jr., age 88, passed away on August 13, 2016, at Optim Medical Center-Screven in Sylvania.
He was born in Hiltonia, GA to the late Austin Matthew, Sr. & Susie Mae Ward Hill.
He was a member of Hurst Baptist Church, worked as a mechanic and farmer and worked as the Maintenance Supervisor for Millhaven and Wade Plantations. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII and was also a Mason. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife: Ruby Jacqueline (Jackie) Mays Hill.
Survivors: Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Gary W. Hill, Gerald D. Hill, Ronald A. & Wendy Hill and Richard E. & Laura Hill, all of Sylvania and Randall D. & Melissa Hill of Millen, GA; Sisters: Faye H. Harvey of Sylvania and Margie H. Plunkett of Aiken, SC; 12 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Monday, August 15, 2016 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Hurst Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Burial following in Hurst Baptist Church Cemetery.
