Mrs. E. G. Warren, 67, was killed instantly last Saturday afternoon and her husband, 73, was critically injured, when their pickup truck collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Gilbert H. Lawson, 38, of Des Moines, approximately eleven miles north of Lineville on Hiway 65.
Investigating officers reported that Warren, who was southbound, stopped at his mailbox and then commenced to cross the road into his own driveway, when the vehicle operated by Lawson rammed into the truck.
Lawson escaped uninjured. His wife, Donna received minor injuries and shock. Mrs. Della Fuller, also of Des Moines, who was riding with the Lawsons, received head and chest injuries. The Lawson children were taken to the Corydon hospital along with the ladies for treatment. Daniel, 7, was treated for facial cuts. Lavella, 10, received a broken leg. William, 8, and a step daughter, Donna Schaffer, 12, escaped without injuries.
Funeral services were slated to be held in Corydon for Mrs. Warren Wednesday afternoon with burial in the **Corydon Cemetery.
