WALTER CURTIS DEAD.
Walter Curtis, the nephew of Mrs. Seth Low, and son-in-law of the late John F. Pierce, former state superintendent of insurance, died Saturday in Havana [NOTE: death date on his gravestone says Oct 19, which disagrees with this statement, Saturday having been the 21st.], where he had for the past three years been the representative of the North American Trust Company. His wife had just completed arrangements to go to Havana for the winter, when the news of her husband’s death came to her. She recently returned to Brooklyn from her summer home in St. Lawrence County. The remains of Mr.Curtis will be brought on and the funeral service will be held at his late home, 7 Montague terrace. Mr. Curtis was born in Boston, Mass., and was a grandson of former Supreme Court Judge Benjamin Curtis, of Boston. He was graduated from Harvard College in 1882, and was a man of much literary attainments. His mother and sister are at present in Europe. His widow and one child survive him.
