Alda E. Kreiter of Polk, formerly of Grove City and Clintonville, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, in the Caring Place, Franklin, following an extended illness. She was 90.
Alda was born in Harrisville on April 29, 1926, to Loyal and Bessie Roxberry Moon.
She married Harold D. Kreiter on June 22, 1953; he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2007.
She was a homemaker and a seamstress at the George Junior Republic for many years.
Alda enjoyed spending time working word search, jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, watching TV Land, especially "Bonanza" and "Gunsmoke." Also she spent many hours crocheting.
Survivors include: three children, Linda Hoffman, Polk, John E. Kreiter and wife Debra, Longs, S.C., and David Umstead and wife Shirley, Sandy Lake; five grandchildren, Samantha Hoffman Karns and husband David, Franklin, Steffanie Adams and husband Jason, Polk, Sarah Speth and husband James, Franklin, Robin Sasse and husband Fred, Sandy Lake, and Jesse Umstead and wife Tina, Greenville; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Alda was preceded in death by: her parents, husband and a sister Eleanor Wright.
