He married Jesse W. Sliger on February 14, 1943 in Licking, MO. To this union ten children were born. On their seventy first anniversary, February 14, 2014, Jesse and Fred were crowned Queen and King of Hearts at the Gibbs Care Center Valentine Banquet. Fred sorely missed his wife after her passing in August of 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willet and Cora Booker; step-mother Bertha Booker, parents-in-law A.Z. "Zeb" and Dora Sliger; son Larry Booker; sons-in-law James Pitts, Roy Soper, and Don Taylor; daughter-in-law Patricia Booker; brothers Tess (and Bernice) Booker, Frank (and Irene) Booker, and Albert "Jack" (and Joyce) Booker; sisters Goldie (and Bill) Miller, Bessie (and Beecher) Clark, Elsie (and Olin) Booker, and Edna (and John) Duncan; brother-in-law Vernon Sliger; sister-in-law Sophia "Hope" Snelson; grandchild Randy Booker, great grandchildren Angel Gresham, Angelina Gresham, Garrett Manthey, Grace Gresham, Hollie Chasen, Jamie Gresham, and Lane Gresham.
