She was married to John O. CALVERT, January 8, 1860, and to this union nine children were born, who are as follows: Alice, Philander, Clara I., Robert L., Allie M., Tilman A., Mary J., Della L. and John B. Four of her children preceded her to the better land, and also her father, mother and seven sisters. She is survived by her aged husband, five children, twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, her brother, T. H. BRYAN, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.
She was confined to her bed about five weeks, and was very patient during her suffering. She professed hope in Christ about twenty years ago and had been a member of the General Baptist church here for eight years. She lived a consistent Christian life, always having great sympathy for anyone in distress and always ready to lend a helping hand.
She said she must leave them and while she would liked to stay with them longer she had no fear of the future and was ready to submit to God's will.
She asked each of her family to meet her in heaven.
May the words of the sainted mother, ever be with the unsaved ones until they give their hearts to God as she had done, and may they be an unbroken family in heaven.
The funeral services were conducted at the church November 10, at 1 p.m. by Rev. William CHESSER, of Winslow, and the remains were interred in the Owen Cemetery.
