Mrs. Pepin Passes Away

The many friends of Mrs. Lisette Pepin in this community were severely shocked to learn of her sudden death Monday afternoon, December 16, 1929.

About a year ago Mrs. Pepin had an illness for several days and at that time she believed she suffered a slight stroke of paralysis. After recovering from that illness she enjoyed good health until the end came. On Monday she complained of being cold and numb but said nothing of being ill. About four o'clock in the afternoon she called her daughter, Mrs. George H. Hall and immediately passed peacefully and calmly away into the hands of her Maker from heart failure before medical aid could be summoned.

The funeral service was held at Treadway Funeral Parlor, Napa at 2 p.m. Thursday and the remains were deposited in a receiving vault to remain until final plans are made for permanent interment which may be at her former home, Topeka, Kansas, where her husband is buried.

Mrs. Lisette Pepin, nee, Leroux, was born at Tulle, Correze, France, November 7, 1843 and came to America with her parents in the year 1866, settling at Topeka, Kansas, where she was married one year later, Mrs. Pepin came to California about twenty years ago since which time she has made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Hall all who have lived in this vicinity since April, 1927.

While living in this community Mrs. Pepin, by her winning ways and sweetness, won many friends who are deeply grieved over her loss. Only last month Mrs. Pepin went to Cloverdale and with her sister, Mrs. Marie Dehay celebrated their birthdays. Mrs. Pepin being 86 years of age, November 7th while her sister was 76 on November 5.

Mrs. Pepin is survived by the following relatives: sister, Mrs. Marie Dehay, of Cloverdale; brother, Jule Leroux, of Healdsburg; daughter, Mrs. George H. Hall, granddaughter, Miss Margorie Pepin, grandsons, Kenneth and Everett Hall, of Oakville; all of whom have the deep sincere sympathy of their many friends in the valley.
