Elmer Benjamin Swaffar, of Lubbock, passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at the age of 86. Mr. Swaffar was born on Nov. 10, 1920 in Altus, Okla. to Benjamin and Pernie (Ray) Swaffar. He married Johnnie J. Smith on July 1, 1941 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death on April 12, 1984. Before retiring in 1980, Mr. Swaffar was a manager of Barwise Fertilizer and Butane. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockney. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, ìRedî Swaffar.

Those left to mourn his passing are one son, Gene and his wife, Gayle Swaffar of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Brad and his wife, Mikki of Southland and their two children Brooke and Kendall; Regina and her husband, Toby Brooks of Abilene and their two children Stormie and Cutter and one sister, Edder Love of Bridgeport.

Family will greet friends from 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 at Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home in Lockney.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada with Rev. Carl Moman, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Lockney, officiating.

Memorials may be sent in Mr. Swaffarís name to VistaCare Hospice, 1010 Slide Rd., Lubbock, Texas 79416.
