Joyce Eileen Nodruff, 88, passed peacefully Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at her home, The Neighbors Next Door in Aurora, Illinois. Joyce was born January 20, 1928 and raised in Batavia, Illinois. She graduated from Batavia High School, then married, raised her family and lived for many years in Montgomery, Illinois. Joyce was always giving and selfless to her family and friends. Over the years, she taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, was room mother for her children's classes and helped with scouting. She was a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary, Sugar Grove Homemakers, Evening Star Circle, and a Senior Hiking Group. Joyce was a member and attended Montgomery, Bristol, Yorkville, Trinity and Wesley United Methodist Churches. Joyce retired from Ohio Casualty Insurance Company where she did dictation for many years. Joyce was preceded death by her parents, Amel and Lorene Harker, her siblings, Donald Harker and Betty Ellis, her former husband, Clyde "Gene" Nodruff and her brother in-law, Stan Ellis. Joyce is survived by her son, Ronald (Tammy) Nodruff, her daughter, Malinda (Mike) Waid, her grandchildren; Amy Waid, Alison (Yuval) Eder, Michael (Deanna) Waid and Ashley Nodruff, and her great-grandson, Vincent Escobedo. Surviving also are her sister-in-law, Reba Harker, and Joyce's 5 nieces and 2 nephews. 285
