Birthday open house
A birthday party and open house was held at Golden Age Manor Sunday for Henrietta Phillips, who was 100 years old October 19.
Mrs. Phillips is the mother of seven children: Roy, Vera Brown and Grace Bradley of Centerville; Pearl Gregg, Agness Spurgeon and Walter of California; and Ray of Des Moines. She also has 29 grandchildren, eight great- and 13 great-great-grandchildren. All her children except Ray were able to be with her for this happy occasion.
Mrs. Phillips is a lifelong resident of Centerville, and has been a member of the Nazarene Church for many years.

OBITUARY
Henrietta B. Phillips was born in Putnam County, Missouri, October 19, 1881. She was the daughter of Courtland and Sarah Klinefelter Brown. She married William Phillips June 13, 1904 and he preceded her in death in February 1941.
She was the last of a family of nine children. Her parents, three brothers Dudle,John, Oliver and five sisters, Martha Eddy, Mary Martin, Jennie Grimes, Nora Frazell and Maud Walker.
Survivers include three sons, Roy of Centerville, Ray of Des Moines, Walter of Red Bluff, Clifornia. Four daughters, Mrs Ross (Vera) Brown and Mrs. Lawrence (Grace) Bradley both of Centerville, Mrs. Ken (Pearl) Gregg of Redding, California and Mrs. Virgil (Agness) Spurgon of Anderson, California, 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:30 Thursday morning, November 5 at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral home and burial in Numa Cemetery.
