Mr. Evans was born October 13, 1926 in Magnolia, Kentucky and was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II. He was retired from Jones-Dabney, a member of the Okolona Masonic Lodge and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Wesley Harvey Evans, Sr. and Myrtle Wright Evans and brother, Charles "Bennie" Evans.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Bobbie Goode Evans; children, Donna Evans Griffin, Dorothy Wiedmar and Carolyn Farvour (Kenny); 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joy Evans; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery.
