The marriage brought forth four children, Ruth Marie, Barbara Ann, Alice Marilyn 'Bunnie' and Howard Egge 'Skip', all born in Seattle. Ruth just 18 when her first daughter was born, with a 36 year old mother and 50 year old grandmother. She and Howard bought a home on Corliss Avenue a dozen or so blocks north of her parent's home, where they resided for over 60 years.
Ruth is survived by her children, Ruth Jones and husband Lawrence, Barbara Taylor and husband Ray, Alice Pfister and husband Gordon and Howard Egge Bennett and wife Marlida Barton, all of the Seattle area ; 11 grandchildren: Kathleen Skog, Susan Servey and Michael Jones; Raymond, David and Bradley Taylor; Mark Pfister, Sharon Nancarrow and Tamara Hills; Todd Bennett and Lori Finch; and 24 great-grandchildren: Eric, Andrea, Tracey, Brian, Lucas, Zachary, Troy, Wade, Adam, Steven, Michelle, Christina, Kerry, Spense, Luke, Elijah, Amber, Cole, Evan Sheliah, Rachael, Sydney, Audrey and Thomas; and two brothers, Robert Egge and wife Carol of Medford and Dick and wife Betty of Seattle.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, Gus and Mary Egge, and two sisters, Ella Ritchie and Norma Christiansen. She was survived by her two brothers, Bob and Dick Egge, and all her children. Ruth and Howard were cremated and their ashes spread on Skunk Bay, across from Port Ludlow.
